John Jackson

Both musical and visual treats highlighted the fine music of John Jackson and the Periscope Jazz Quartet at the Blues to Jazz concert last Saturday. John Jackson had time for everyone and everything, speaking to people whenever he wasn’t playing, taking requests and playing an extra set. Children of all ages clapped and danced, with the backdrop of the mountains and the orange and yellow parachute canopy covering the stage.

Tlie artists joined for three songs, among them a lavish rendition of “When the Saints Go Marching In,” with John Jackson’s gravelly I’ve-paidmy-dues blues voice accompanied by Periscope Jazz Quartet’s crystal dear instrumentals.
