“We wint to meet the needs of the people here. We want their suggestions on films we should stock,” Kauffman said. She explained that Washington Video Rentals has a “wish list” box for customers to leave the names of films they’d like to see. Periodically, the favorites will be tallied—and ordered, if available on VCR tape.
“First run movies are moving almost instantaneously from the big screen to the little VCR screen in the living room. It’s the wave of the future in the home entertainment field, particularly in rural areas that will never be served by cable," Haase said. “We hope to have the crest of that wave breaking in Rappahannock at the same time it hits the rest of the country.”
Washington Video Rentals is open from noon until 7 p.m.Wednesday through Sunday.
