Some games are also played on a flat basis. International teams such as this team tom Great Britain usually go on three-week tours where they play every other day. Polo season is generally from May to October and sometimes into November, according to Mr. Staples.
The horses are exceptional. Their well-mannered, gentle behavior, and their well-trained, sleek, muscular bodies must be able to twist, turn, stop quickly and gallop (hat at the command of the rider. The horse must also be able to take bumping into other horses and putting up with mallets and bells flying around head and body.
The thoroughbred horse is generally considered the beet suited. The horses were wearing a saddle, bit, bridle and colorftil boots at iridescent orange, green or blue. They were so well-groomed that they glistened in the sun and were stunning. Most horses start playing in the games at the age of 4 or 5, but if they’re in good physical shape, they can still play up into their 20’s.
