Rappahannock’s sludge disposal plan is no plan at all, according to Robert Forman of the health department’s Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste Management.
On Monday, the county supervisors voted unanimously to dispose of sludge in the county t landfill, the action a direct result of the state’s requirement for a sludge disposal plan. Without such a plan, Sperryville’s sewage treatment plant cannot obtain an operating permit, according to the county’s Water and Sewer Authority.
