blithely ignores some facts of life and law in developing his plot. Hootspah’s murder mystery included a cast of diverse characters. Chris Barnes played the rich leading man Monte. He had been drugged and led to believe that he had commited a murder and had , married two “ladies.”
His two supposed wives were a stripper played by Amy Aylor and Jenny, a chocolate dipper from the Bronx, played by Gina Manwaring. Jenny was always protected by her tough brother Dutch, played by Joey Eldred.
Doretha Butler as the lawyer stayed cool and calm throughout, as did Aladair Earley as the butler and Annie, the maid, played by Annette Fletcher. Jennifer Shorb as the sexy snob changed her hairstyle as often as Chandra Eldred, who played Monte’s fiance, changed her feelings about him.
Of course every murder mystery needs a dead body. Donna Foster played the “stiff.” But who killed him?
The student production staff consisted of Wendy Stringfellow, Tommy Gaines, Thomas Massie, Louie Moore, David Fisher, Natalie Butler, Heather Kilpatrick and Dexter Freeman.
By the way — the maid was an undercover police woman who unveiled the murderer — his fiance! Why? “Agatha Christie made me do it.”
