Did you know that Confederate bullets had two rings and the Union bullets had three rings? .
Rappahannock County Elementary School fourth graders discovered this and much more during their field trip to the New Market Battlefield on April 28.
Ms. Valerie Hibbs, fourth grade chairman, said they chose this location because “it was close enough to go in one day’s time. It showed them about the New Market battle, the Civil War, and the VMI cadets in Virginia.”
