Contestants needed
Young ladies between the ages of 13 end 19 are needed to run for Sperryville honorary fire chief queen. For additional information call Joyce Lillard at 987-8952. The carnival will be held June 17-21.
Bus trip to Oriole-Yankee game
Baseball lovers from Rappahannock will travel to Baltimore on Fathers Day, June 15, to see the Baltimore Orioles play the New York Yankees. The bus trip, sponsored by RAAC, includes transportation, a beverage, and a ticket to the game. Tickets are $20 and are sure to sell out, so reserve a seat on the bus immediately for Dad by making a $10 deposit. For more information, call the RAAC office at 675-3193.
Senior class benefit dinner
The senior class at Rappahannock High School will sponsor a spaghetti dinner to raise money for their class trip. The dinner will be held May 20 at the high school from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Tickets for the benefit dinner are priced at $4 in advance and $5 at the door. Children’s tickets will cost $2.50. For more information or to purchase tickets contact Mary Ann Biggs at Rappahannock High School, 987-8575.
Money raised from the dinner will go toward the senior class trip to Busch Gardens.
Concert and art show planned
A spring choral concert and art show will be held at Rappahannock High School May 15 at 8 p.m.
The high school choir under the direction of Judy Bomberger will present a variety of selections and the art class students of Don Bomberger will show their work.
Hospice of the Rapidan meeting
Hospice of the Rapidan will hold their annual meeting May 22 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church on South Main Street in Madison. All interested persons are invited to attend this meeting which will include a speaker, election of Board of Directors and refreshments. Culpeper Minute Men Chapter to meet
The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter NSDAR members will have the opportunity tp hear of the activities at the State and National NSDAR Conferenced held in March and April, respectively, at the meeting Tuesday* May( 13, at 2 pirn, in the social hall of the Culpepei United Methodist Church. Hostesses are Mrs. Thomas Clarke and Mrs. Ralph Sharpe.
Truck and tractor pull scheduled
