ine Liora ramax community College Educational Foundation has announced a new scholarship, the Ranee Lee Spellman Memorial Scholarship for agriculture/horticulture students for the 1986-87 academic year.
The Ranee Lee Spellman Memorial Scholarship is in honor of a man whose life was dedicated to the preservation of farming and the humane protection of animals and birds, the Foundation’s announcement said.
To be considered for the scholarship a student must demonstrate a commitment to learning the skills necessary to farm, have a recommendation documenting potential for a career in farming or a related field and need some financial assistance to pursue his goals. Any fulltime student presently attending Lord Fairfax or planning to attend in the fall in the agriculture, horticulture, livestock production technology or natural resources program who meets the above criteria is encouraged to apply for this $1,500 scholarship before May 21.
