rid themselves of this perilous environmental nightmare (acid rain).
Problems for HR 4567 could come in the full Energy and Commerce Comn)ittee where it could be killed by simply doing nothing about it. Also, opponents of the bill could pressure some of the original cosponsors to walk away from the bill.
So, it is extremely important to keep adding co-sponsors to the bill in order to make it difficult for opponents of the bill to delay or kill committee or floor consideration of the legislation.
It is crucial that letters go to our congressional representative at once, urging him to sign on as a cosponsor of HR 4567. He is Rep. D. French Slaughter Jr., U.S. House of Representatives, Washington, D.C. 20515. Time is of the essence as there is not much time left in this session of Congress.
Our legislators must be told that the time for study of acid rain is past and that we must move on this issue to get an Acid Rain Bill in 1986.
