posal at a regional landfill in Page County, including transportation, would be about $77 per ton.
Jackson District representative Ellis Bingham suggested the county not go into a regional landfill unless it includes a Material Recovery Facility (MRF). With a MRF it would not be necessary for the homeowner to separate recyclable trash from other trash. It would be separated by employees at the landfill.
Mr. McCarthy agreed that it will be difficult for the county to meet the goal of 25 percent recycling by 1995 without such a facility.
The board heard a report from Col. E.P. Luke on Planning District 9. The county administrator in Fauquier County has * suggested Fauquier should drop out of PD-9 and join PD-8, which serves Northern Virginia.
