The meet went down to the wire in the American Environmental Products Invitational Monday bifore the boys track team finished third. The final score: Culpeper 59, Orange 54, Rappahannock 48.
Senior Ryan Welch took first place in the high jump, the long jump and the triple jump and second in the 200 meters to lead the Panthers in scoring. Jamie Fincham won the1 shotput and came in second in the discus.
Others scoring: Randy Early, fourth in the shotput, third in the 300 IM hurdles and fourth in the 110 high hurdles; Jason Fox, fourth in the 300 IM hurdles; Jason Waters, first in the 1600 meters (5:00) and first in the 3200 meters (11:07); David Updike, fourth in the discus; Chris Payne, second in the 800 meters and fourth in the 400 meters; and the 400 relay and 1600 relay teams finished third.
