The Russian children had their booklets translated into English and copied the translation so we could read and understand their statements—something they had never done before and which was difficult for them to do considering the formation of their letters is very different from ours.
Thanks to Laurie Marshall's quick thinking many wonderful textbooks were saved from the landfill. They were going to be dumped, so she and Mrs. Alexander’s class will be sending them off to Russia also.
