Against George Mason Friday, the Panthers got their first district win of the year by outlasting the Mustangs 12-11 before the contest was called in the sixth inning on account of darkness.
“Neither team really played well,” said Coach Tupper. “We knew whoever was up last would win.” And that was Rappahannock.
The Mustangs got eight hits and had the advantage of nine fielding errors by Rappahannock. The Panthers had only five hits.
Right-hander Hunter Foster went most of the way before being pulled with one out in the sixth. J.C. Welch game in, faced two batters and got credit for the win.
