Novello, the United States Surgeon General, has reported that 100 children die every day from avoidable household accidents.
Adds Mrs. Beker, “Preventable injuries are the number one killer of children in home settings. Common sense suggests that the chances of injury and accidents increase in situations where several young children are being cared for by a single individual. This grant gives us a wonderful chance to help prevent tragic accidents and keep children in family day care safe.” 1
Anyone who is taking care $f children in their home and interested in more information about receiving safety devices (fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, safety gates, etc.) should call Mrs. Beker at the Soho Center, 703-9235012.
