Silversmith at Trading Post Gerald Shenandoah, a Silversmith with Oneida/Iroquois Confederacy, will be at The Trading Post from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April 11 and 12. Shenandoah, a well known Native American silversmith, will be demonstrating the making of silver jewelry as well as doing repair work. He and his wife, Cheryl, will be bringing purses, hats, and clothing that they designed and made from furs and buckskin. Gerald also does sculptures in bone and stone. The Trading Post has new spring/summer store hours which began March 20 and will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Indian tacos and try bread will also be for sale during Mr. Shenandoah’s visit. The Trading Post is located on U.S. 211, west of Washington.
Easter egg hunt An Easter egg hunt and social will be held at Horseshoe Hill Recreational Center, U.S. 211, west of Sperryville from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Monday, April 20. There will be fun for all ages including sack races, soft ball, food and drinks. This event will benefit the Rappahannock Community Citizen League Center.
B&B's moveable feast The Bed and Breakfast Guild of Rappahannock has scheduled its annual Moveable Feast at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, April 26. The Guild has sponsored a Moveable Feast since 1988. Participating B&B’s are Caledonia Farm, The Conyer’s House, Gay Street Inn, Thistle Hill and Sycamore Hill. Reservations may be made by calling the Gay Street Inn at 6753288.
Spring event at church Washington Baptist Church will be having their annual spring event during the Fodderstack Race beginning at 10 a.m. on April 25 with plate lunches, barbecue chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks, bake sale, plants, Grandma’s Attic and crafts.
Dance at Amissville The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 11. The band “Tarragon” will play. Proper dress and identification is required. For more information call 937-4357.
