This playful year-old husky female gets along well with other dogs. Also available at the Rappahannock Animal Shelter in Amissville this week are a 2-3 year old lab-hound male, brindle in color; a 2-3 year old dobermanshepherd cross female, very friendly; a 2-3 year old beagle female; ■ a 4-month-old Australian shepherd female and a 6-month-old beagle female, mostly white with a little black and brown. The shelter is open from 9:30 a.m.3 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. The lost animal registry can be found in the Classified Section of the Rappahannock News.
Veterans' office
to close doors
After 46 years of service to the area’s veterans, their survivors and others, the Front Royal Office of the Virginia Department of Veterans’ Affairs will close May 1 due to state budget cutbacks. An agent of the department will continue to visit Front Royal on a regular basis, however. For more information call Danuel L. Smith at 703-635-4201.
