Hundreds of bed and breakfasts across America participated in a unique award program to identify the overall best destinations for an overnight stay. Caledonia Farm near Flint Hill was selected as the only B&B in Virginia and one of only 23 nationwide to receive “four ovations” designating it as “exceptional” and “significantly exceeding requirements in physical and opera' tirtfia!categories.” *#**w-.

The competition w’as developed by IN Novations, a company specializing in marketing support to distinctive B&B accommodations.

Caledonia Farm submitted a video entry accompanied by guest testimonials. B&Bs were rates in ambiance, architectural detail, service to guests, reputation and overall presentation of property. Judges represented a cross section of the hospitality industry. Restaurants were not eligible.

Caledonia Farm’s host, Phil Irwin, was delighted with the national recognition. Having visited 270 B&Bs in North America, Mr. Irwin says, “now we’re even more sure that we have little competition for hospitality, accommodations, scenery, history or recreation.”

He adds, “We’re still the most affordable B&B in the area.”

Caledonia Farm has earlier earned the International Inn Society top 5-Globe Award, a Treadway Classic Inn designation and AAA’s top 3-Diamond rating for B&Bs.
