Cheryl Alexander’s third grade class has made friends and penpals with a third grade class in St. Petersburg, Russia.
They have exchanged postcards, pictures, life-size valentines (a traced full-size body cut-out) and magazines.
The most recent exchange was a package of booklets called “My Country, Your Country” and cutouts of the Russian alphabet.
Our third-grade sent booklets called “My Country, Your Country” to be filled out by the Russian children.
The booklet contained sections to describe their pets or animals that they like; pictures of themselves; and a page to describe what’s important to them—one example by Sasha Pomorin (his American pen pal is Zack Corbin) was his family, his native city and economic peace.
