Mr. Currence said most of the stores are up and down the east coast, but a few are in California. The closest outlet for Rappahannock residents is in Woodstock, he said, ' The company used to make clothes for other retailers, but over the past 10 years this has changed, and 99 percent of the garments are sold from the company’s outlet stores, he said. There are also contracts to make clothes for the armed services, he added.
The Flint Hill plant has 239 employees, 204 machine operators, and 35 who do other jobs. Most are women, about half from RapSee
