A focal point for senior services in the Fauquier County area is the Rappahannock-Rapidan Area Agency on Aging. This agency provides information to older residents and their families, delivers needed services and serves as an advocate for all seniors in the five counties: Fauquier, Rappahannock, Culpeper, Madison and Orange, served by the agency.
According to Sally Morgan, director of the Area Agency on Aging, “We work with older persons and their families to link them with necessary care providers. We seek to educate and assist in helping the older person to maintain the maximum level of independence and fulfillment. And we go a step further to serve as an advocate for individuals and groups of older residents.”
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Area Agency on Aging also provides many opportunities to retired residents in the area. Through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), the agency gives active retirees the chance to make a difference in the community. _
