Specializing in tree fruits and vineyards, researchers employed at the Winchester station conduct weekly sessions with Rappahannock and Madison orchardists during the spring and less frequent sessions during the summer.
They have also conducted specific research projects for local growers. As more growers in this area have planted grapes, the Winchester research station has changed its programs to switch more of the research effort into grape growing.
According to Dr. Keith Yoder, plant pathologist with the research station, the station moved into its offices on Valley Avenue in Winches
