Field days to be held

The annual field day held at Shenandoah Valley Agricultural Experiment Station, Steeles Tavern, Va. will be held Thursday, Sept. 10 and the annual field day held at Northern Piedmont Agricultural Experiment Station in Orange will be held Thursday, Sept. 17. Call the Extension Office at 675-3619 if you are interested.

GED classes start

Classes to prepare individuals to take the GED test will begin at the Piedmont Technical Education Center at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Pre-GED classes are given free of charge, but there is a onetime charge of $30 for the books needed for the GED classes. Classes will continue through April on both Tuesday and Thursday nights. If a person cannot attend the first night, then they should come the first Tuesday or Thursday that is convenient for them. For more information call 825-0476 or 1-800-371-7380.

Craft show planned

The Amis8ville Fire Department and Rescue Squad is planning a craft show for the weekend of Oct. 24 and 25 at the fire hall. Anyone wishing to rent table space should contact Ginny Piersoivat 937-4496.

Auction items sought

Items are needed by Washington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department for an auction to be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 26. Anyone wishing to donate items should call 675-3615 and leave a message. The auction will benefit the fire department.
