business
Businesses throughout the county will participate in a “healthiest business” competition in conjunction with this year’s Alive and Kicking observance. The competition is an effort to encourage awareness and the practice of healthy lifestyle habits through the worksite.
It has been proven that healthy employees are happier and more productive. Businesses that encourage good health practices benefit as do their employees.
The “healthiest business” competition is called the “Tour de Virginia.” It is a bicycle race on paper. Participants receive miles for the healthy things they do each day, such as drink eight glasses of water, use stairs rather than an elevator, or give a friend a compliment.
Competition packets are available to coordinators at each business site. .All coordinators will receive an Alive and Kicking T-shirt. Plaques are awarded to the healthiest business along with media recognition of their achievement.
