This is an exciting year for politics. There are many major issues such as the economy, health care, the deficit, the family, transportation, world affairs, taxes, etc. We as citizens of this great county should by now have formed our own opinions on these subjects.
We also should be reading and listening to the candidates, both presidential and congressional, for their ideas on the answers.
This year, as has been our custom for the past several years, the Rappahannock County Republican Committee will host a rally for the Republican candidates at the fire hall in Washington. This year our candidate is Congressman Frank Wolf running for election in the new 10th District.
Invited guests are Congressman Allen, State Sen. Kevin Miller and State Sen. Ed Robb. A speaker for the Bush-Quayle campaign is also scheduled to attend.
Everyone is invited on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the fire hall in Washington. Refreshments will be available. Bring the w'hole family. No fee required. There will be an auction of craft items and baked goods to offset the cost of the facility.
