Ellie Byrd Eastham Coleman, 88, of Lynchburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 1 at the Drinkard Health Care Center in Lynchburg.
The funeral was conducted Friday, Sept. 4 at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Front Royal by the Rev. Thomas D. Clay. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.Mrs.
Coleman was bom July 7, 1904 in Rappahannock County, the daughter of the late Philip Byrd and Mafie Deatherage Eastham. She was a graduate of Harrisonburg Business College and worked for the state until her retirement in 1960. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lynchburg, the Lynchburg Womart’s Club, the Fort Hill Woman’s Club, the Rivermont Senior Center and the Kirkwood Otey Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
