Gardening program planned
Friday, April 2 the Rappahanncok League for Environmental Protection will present “Growing Organically: a Gardening Discussion”, featuring members of the Virginia Association for Biological Fanners.
The program will feature valuable information usable in all gardens, large or small, organic or not, including tips on organic growing, composting, pest control, specialty crops, marketing, and much more. The program is part of the Library’s First Friday Series, and begins at 8 p.m. in the meeting room. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.
Homemakers group forming
A new county-wide Extension Homemakers group has formed and will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6 at the Extension Office. The topic presented that evening will be shadow quilting. All participants should bring a needle, thread, scissors and a thimble. Anyone is welcome to come and find out more about the Extension Homemakers.
Future meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. Such activites as making bluebird houses, the annual England International Dinner and providing refreshments for the Baccalaureate tea are upcoming.
