Festival planned
for mushrooms
The second annual Appalachian Mushroom Festival will be held on April 17-18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival will be held at Simeon Vineyards near Charlottesville on State Rt. 53 between Monticello and Ashlawn.
On Sunday, April 18, the festival will feature a culinary contest by gourmet chefs from five Virginia restaurants, who will prepare dishes with shiitake and other exotic mushrooms.
Admission for adults, including wine tasting, is $10.
