Miss Rappahannock pageant The annual Miss Rappahannock beauty pageant sponsored by Sperryville Rescue Squad will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 24 at Rappahannock High School. Rehearsal will be held at the school at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 22. The contest will include girls ages 2-19 and boys from 2-6 years old. There will also be a mother-daughter contest. Registration and open house The Spring Mountain School in Washington will have an open house from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 22 in the kindergarten class. Committee to meet The Management Committee of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7 in the Lord Culpeper Building.
Navajo at Trading Post Mary Lou White, a Navajo, will be at The Trading Post from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 3 and 4. Mary Lou, who is from Window Rock, Arizona will have a selection of silver and turquoise jewelry. She will also bring sandpaintings, weaving and other distinctive items crafted by the Navajo people from her area. A selection of native American foods will be prepard and sold by Eve Hill and her family. The Trading Post is located on U.S. 211 west of Washington.
