“1 didn’t know if my horse would be handy enough to hug the final turn,” Cockburn related about the closing stages of the three miles. Topeador retained a lengthy lead over the final flight, but Thanks Henry found another gear and made a bid along the inside, hugging the inner rail. DeLozier simultaneously pursued the leaders on the outside of the course.
