He was born June 13, 1926 in Flint Hill, the son of the late Ott E. and Eva Thompson Welch.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was an employee of Chesapeake Motor Lines in Dorsey, Md.
Survivors include his wife Gerdi F. Welch of Glen Bumie; a brother Julian T. Welch of Flint Hill; a sister, Virginia Krebs of Bealeton and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ora L. Davis of Flint Hill.
Interment was in the Meadowridge Memorial Park, Dorsey Md. The Rev. Kurt of Glen Bumie Presbyterian Church officiated. A prayer service was held by the Mason’s on March 22.
