RICHMOND — Federal pensioners who refused to settle with Virginia for refunds of state taxes they overpaid for three years are entitled to full refunds.
In a decision Friday morning the Virginia Supreme Court ruled in a unanimous opinion that the 14,283 pensioners are entitled to a full refund plus interest, which amounts to close to $78 million.
The cost would have been higher if not for the settlement reached with 90 percent of the pensioners, who received about 75 cents on
