One of the most important parts of judging is giving reasons. The judge takes the following things into consideration when scoring reasons:
• The member’s ability which justify the placing.
• The member’s knowledge of the essential qualities and standards required in the class.
• The member’s organization of ideas and ability to state them in the concise manner.
• The member’s use of a varied, descriptive vocabulary and correct grammar.
• General poise and confidence exhibited by the member.
