Clara Mitchell
Clara Hampton Micks Mitchell, 84, died Wednesday, Sept. 13 at her home in Orange.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Davis and Sally DeJarnette Micks, and a sister, Magruder M. Grymes.
She was bom June 1, 19911, in Front Royal.
Mrs. Mitchell was a charter member of the Orange Garden Club, a member of the Historical Society of Orange County, Friends of Montpelier, St. Hilda’s Chapter, Episcopal Church Women of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, and former co-owner of The Piedmont Shoppe at Woodberry Forest.
She is survived by her husband, Upshur Mitchell; two daughters, Sally M. Crismond of Orange and Cornelia M. Harwood of Richmond; a sister, Katherine M, Bernard of Fredericksburg; two brothers, Henry Baldwin Micks of Orange and John DeJarnette Micks of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Sept. 16 at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church in Orange.
