School Night for Scouting Set

Cub Scout Pack 123 will be holding School Night at Rappahannock County Elementary School at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21. The Pack invites all boys in first through fifth grades and their parents to come and learn about the fun and adventure awaiting them in scouting. There will be a short presentation, displays and other information.

Quilt Raffle Tickets Available

Susan Parrish, Rappahannock’s renowned quilting expert has made a King/Queen sized handpieced quilt called “Turkey Tracks” which will be raffled to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Raffle tickets are $2 and are available at Cabin Fever Books in Washington. The winner will be announced at the Cancer Society Luncheon on Sept. 21.

Ten Week Herbal Series Set

Kathleen Maier will present a 10-week series based on British master herbalist David Hoffman’s therapeutic herbalism course. This course include in-depth descriptions, material media and physiology. Classes begin Tuesday, Oct. 3 and continue every Tuesday evening till Dec. Classes are from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and the fee is $200 for the series. Please call 636-3078 for location and registration.

Shooting Matches Set

The Castleton Community Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company will have their shooting matches starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23 and continue each Saturday until Nov. 11. Only 12 gauge shotguns with no sleeves will be permitted. For more information call 937-3922.
