The groom wore a double-breasted, shawl-collared tuxedo with ivory shirt, vest and bowtie. His boutonniere matched the roses in the bride’s wrist corsage.
The best man was Mr. Michael Roberts of Capital Heights, Md., nephew of the groom.
Groomsmen were Mr. Lewis S. Butler, Jr. of Silver Spring, Md., cousin of the bride, Mr. Carroll A. Frye of Manassas and Mr. Walter O Frye of Culpeper, friends of the bride and groom, Mr. William H. Lewis of Washington, cousin-in-law of the bride, Mr. Barrett Wilson of Stuarts Draft, cousin of the bride. They wore single-breasted, shawl-collared tuxedos with “stained-glass” black vests accented with the wedding colors.
Ushers were Mr. Anthony A. Butler of Front Royal, cousin of the bride and Mr. Alan L. Groves of Washington, godson of the bride’s mother.
The ringbearer was Master Lance Brown of Jeffersonton, friend of the couple. They wore tuxedos and boutonniers identical to the groomsmen.
Organ music for the wedding was provided by Mr. Richard Lewis, organist for the Warrenton United Methodist Church. He accompanied Mr. Avery O.L. Willis of Alexandria, baritone soloist, cousin of the bride, on “Great is Thy Faithfulness” for the mothers’ entrance. He also accompanied Ms. Sarah Pener, New York, N.Y., lyric soprano, cousin of the bride, “I know that My Redeemer liveth” and “The Ldrd’s Prayer.”
The pianist was Mr. Robert Rhodes of Ladysmith who accompanied Mr. Willis on “My Tribute.” Mr. Rhodes also accompanied a Wedding Ensemble consisting of Mrs. Everetta L. Banks, Ms. Karen Campbell, Mrs. Ilona Epperson, and Dr. Hortense Hinton, all of Culpeper on “Give Us This Day,” “Here’s the Reason” and “We are One.”
