Rev. James Crane
Rev. James Williams Crane. 61, of Culpeper died Friday, Sept. 15 at York Hospital in York, Pa.
Rev. Crane was born Aug. 6, 1934, in West Virginia to Dr. W.L. Crane and the late Ada Mae NcMillion Crane.
Rev. Crane was the pastor at Gourdvine Baptist Church for over nine years and a member of the Shiloh Baptist Association. He was employed by Schewel Furniture Company for 12 years and Farm Chronicle News Paper for the last five years.
He was also a member The Circus Model Builders of America.
Besides his father, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Phyllis Sharpe Crane and six children, Alan Crane of Franklinton, N.C., Bruce Crane and Suzanne Carter, both of Youngsville, N.C., Reba Boyd of Christiansburg, Kim Smith of Warrenton and Anthony Rumley of Richmond.
Rev. Crane is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Additional survivors include his mother-in-law, Avis Sharpe Light, and a sister-in-law, Wanda Strachan, both of Martinsville.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Found & Sons Chapel with the Rev. Lanny Horton and the Rev. Floyd T. Binns officiating.
Interment was held at Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.
Pallbearers were Roger Judd, Tony Lee, Jimmy Inskeep, Richard St. John, Donnie Johnston and Jimmy Jones.
