Bertha Scholten is a counselor who believes in a holistic way of looking at people; she explores a client’s whole life rather than studying yust one aspect of it.

“We are not just a mind; we are also a body and the spirit within that,’’ said Ms. Scholten. She has joined several other health care specialists at Rappahannock Healing Arts whose mission is to heal the body, mind and spirit. The offices are located in the Mountainside Market building in Sperryville on U.S. 211, and two rooms are set aside for counselling, massages and several other types of therapy.

Ms. Scholten received her master s in education at the University of Virginia and has worked in this area since 1978. She also does counselling in Madison, where she lives, and has been employed as an extended care coordinator for Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board.
