Freshman jumpers will chase the gold this fall in the National Steeplechase Association 3-YearOld Championship series, worth a cash bonus of $10,000 to the top earners in the three-race division.
The series kicks off its schedule with the $25,000 Future Champions Cup at the International Gold Cup meeting at Great Meadow in The Plains.
The NSA designed the races in an effort to excite racegoers about the future of steeplechasing, and, with the monetary rewards available, to bring along a future crop oi runners, at once encouraging owners to pigeon-hole nice young horses as hurdlers early in their careers.
