Hurricane

Help Sought

The recent hurricane has done great damage to property on the Virgin Islands. People are homeless-, hungry and poorly clothed.

There is a need for donations of clothing, blankets, flashlights, tooth paste, first aid supplies, soap, and so forth..

Retired Judge Burke Hertz has been informed of these needs by friends on the Islands and is spearheading the effort for local aid. He urges Rappahannock citizens to look in their closets and storerooms for things they can donate to this desperate cause.

There will be a pick up of donations at the Four and Twenty parking lot in Flint Hill at noon on Thursday Sept. 21.

Call Judge Hertz at 675-3300 or the Virgin Island Tourist Office at (202) 2.93-3707 for further information.
