Amy Hitt

Hometown: Amissville Accomplishments: Amy Hitt was born and raised in Lake Placid, N.Y. She was the oldest of six girls. Six years ago, she married Gary Hitt and they have three children; a daughter, Amber and twin boys, Evan and Dylan. It should go without saying that Mrs. Hitt is a stay at home mom and enjoys every minute of her career. The Hitts own Holly Hill Tree Service and Landscaping. Mrs. Hitt is a member of Amissville Baptist Church, where she currently serves as nursery director. She also teaches the Girls In Action Mission class for the first through third grade. Mrs. Hitt is a board member of the Amissville Area Community Association. She also serves as overall chairperson for the Community Identity Activities and Events Committee. She is also editor of the association’s newsletter. She and other members of the association are currently working on getting “Welcome to Amissville” signs complete and in place. In her spare time, as if there is any, she volunteers at Rappahannock County Elementary School. She loves gardening and landscaping her yard. Mrs. Hitt is working toward making the old dump site in Amissville into a community park for the children something similar to Rady Park in Warrenton. According to Mrs. Hitt, “a long term goal is to help keep Amissville a rural community for my children and their children.”
