Rappahannock High School presents the Greek comedy, “The Birds” by Aristophanes in two performances scheduled Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
Aristophanes (450-387 B.C.) was one of the giants of classical theatre. This modern day translation is an acting version of the play by Walter Kerr.
Jean Elizabeth, former director of “The Shepherds’ Play” directs this production. Lainie Morgan is the stage manager.
The 16 member cast includes: (in order of appearance) Jeremy Slack, Aaron Price, Jessica Manak, Derrick Hiserman, Dawn Andreoni, Jami Gillis, Mark Williams, Sara Dodd-Henze, Holly Long, Cecilia Falk, Jennifer Bywaters, Jeff Simeson, Lainie Morgan, Sara Thomas, Wendy Gillis and Matt Ralston. Many cast members play multiple roles in this entertaining, fast paced comedy.
