Washington, Va. on Aug. 1, 1922, the sixth of eleven children born to William Henry and Margaret Elizabeth Hunter.
She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters and two brothers.
She was raised in the Baptist faith as a child. After she left her childhood home in Virginia, she converted to Catholicism in the 1940’s.
Mrs. Stewart retired from the United States Postal Service in 1983.
Mrs. Stewart loved her family and friends. She was extremely proud of her daughters, both of whom are lawyers.
Survivors include two daughters, Melody Jean Stewart and Cheryl Bellemay and son-in-law Dr. Robert E. Bellemay and three grandsons.
Additional survivors include six sisters, Mary Catherine Wilson of Bristol, Pa., Willie Dorothy Hunter of Levittown, Pa., Delilah Frances Daulks of Norfolk, Margaret Ann Freeman of Warrenton, Hazel Virginia Coaxrom of Levittown, Pa., and Joyce Constance Beckham of Tampa, Fla.
