Spring event planned
The Washington Baptist Church will hold its annual “Spring Event” during the Fodderstack Race on Saturday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the public is invited. For those with an appetite, there will be hamburgers and hot dogs, chips, drinks, baked goods, popcorn and snow corns. For those looking for bargains, there will be a Grandma's Attic yard sale with many quality items. The proceeds from this event will go toward the Church Building Fund. Come find out Thursday, April 13, 7 p.m. at Rappahannock High School when publiceducation.com presents three panelists to give us a look into the future. Come hear some new thinking about teaching and learning, about academics and vocational education and how school funding can be met. Following a 45minute panel there will be workshops for group discussion and community in-put.
Headwaters and the Rappahannock PTO will provide a lasagna supper in the high school cafeteria from 5:30 to 6:45 preceding the panel. Physicals at Health Department
Kindergarten, school and preschool physicals will be offered at the Rappahannock County Health Department April 4 and April 11 from 1 to 4 p.m., which will include physicals and immunizations. Immunizations only will be offered April 7 from 8:30 to 11 a.m., no appointment necessary. Please bring proof of income and immunization record. Appointment is needed for physicals only.
Extended hours
The Rappahannock Commissioner of Revenue’s Office has announced that effective now through May 1 they will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help residents with personal property forms and/or those with income tax questions. For additional information call 675-3513.
Dance at Flint Hill
A dance will be held at the Flint Hill fire hall on April 1 from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. Music will be provided by Southern Persuasion. Cost is $20 for couples or $12 single. For more information call Connie Huff-Harris at 675-3389.
Gospel music program planned
A birthday celebration for Annie Clanagan will be held on Saturday, April 1 at 6 p.m. at the Sperryville fire hall. A gospel music program has been scheduled. Groups to appear include: The Deane Spiritualair; David Clanagan and The Free Spirit; The Glory Road Singers; Heaven’s Express; The Faith Singers; Heritage Express and The Voices of Inspiration. All are invited to attend.
Youth Alive to meet
Exciting news for youth, ages 10-18, of Rappahannock and Culpeper areas. Come join Youth Alive of Amissville, an exciting new youth ministry with contemporary Christian music and awesome Bible teaching. Youth alive meets at the Viewtown Store from 7:30 to 9 p.m. every second and fourth Saturday. Subs, pizza, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase following the meeting. Shooting matches at Castleton
A shooting match will be held every Friday at 7 p.m. at the Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Company. Rules are 12 gauge shot guns and 36 inch barrels, maximum length.
Annual fashion show
The annual Business and Professionals Womens Organization will be holding a fashion show/luncheon on Saturday, April 8 at 12. The show will be held at the Holiday Inn, Culpeper. Men, children and women will model clothes exclusively from the local J.C. Penny’s.

Financial Mentor training offered
Virginia Cooperative Extension is pleased to announce that Financial Mentor Training will be offered for residents of Planning District 9. Sessions will begin April 18 and continue on April 25, May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. Time will be 9 a.m. to 12. All training will be conducted at the Culpeper County Library. Hospital to offer classes
Warren Memorial Hospital will offer Healthy Eating, a dynamic, interactive program designed to help you choose foods that are low in fat, high in fiber, yet delicious. This program includes four weekly one-hour sessions, menus, recipes, and resources to help take the guesswork out of selecting and preparing healthful meals and snacks.
