The Fauquier Community Theatre brings its production of the psychological thriller “Night Must Fall” to The Theatre at Washington for two performances, on Saturday, April 1 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 2 at 3 p.m.
The setting for the drama is a classic English country house, presided over by a reclusive, self centered matron, who uses her money and imaginary ailments to control those around her. Among those beholden to her is the lonely niece, forced by circumstances to live and work in this house filled with fear and tension.
The household includes the wise cracking and irreverent housekeeper, the optimistic but rather stupid maid, and the cheery nurse. The arrival on the scene of a charming and charismatic young man brings with it mystery, and eventually the entry of the detective from Scotland Yard.
The actors of the Fauquier Community Theatre will be joined by Judge Douglas Ginsburg, for a cameo appearance as the Lord Chief Justice of England, at the Saturday evening performance; Diane Bruce, Clerk of Court for Rappahannock County, will play the role of Lord Chief Justice at the Sunday afternoon performance.
