Hi everyone! Has anybody been mowing the lawn yet? All the yards look nice and green, so that only means one thing, pollen! I hope it is not as bad as last year. Well, let’s see what’s going on.

On Sunday, April 2 at 7 p.m. Country Gospel singing group, “The Fraziers” will be performing at the Amissville Baptist Church. The admission is free!

Ron and Sharon Frazier go around the country performing. Come out and listen to some great gospel music. For more information call the church office at 937-6159.

On Saturday, April 8 at 5 p.m. The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be having a chicken dinner. The fire company would like to thank everyone for their support for their recent breakfast. They also would like to thank the following merchants for their donations: Lombardy’s Restaurant, The Country Cafe, Adam’s Slaughter, Mayhugh’s Grocery, Hillsdale Grocery, Ben Venue Market, Hackley’s Country Store, Laurel Mills Store, Merchants Grocery and the Lee & Williams Orchard. The breakfast was a great success. I am sure the chicken dinner will be too! Prices and complete menu will be in next weeks issue.

On Friday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. the AACA/RLEP will cosponsor a “Town Meeting” on counter sprawling. The speakers are Ed Risse, land use and community planning consultant; Peggy Maio, Loudoun County field officer for Piedmont Environmental Council; Joseph Maio, founder of Voters to Stop Sprawl, which led a movement to elect a new Board of Supervisors in Loudoun County, dedicated to slower growth.

This meeting is important to the citizens of Amissville as well as, the entire Rappahannock County area. Plan to attend and voice your opinion.
