Lee. Ben Verrill played cymbals and carrying the banner were Ginger Dennis and Jessica Estes. Watching for fallen drumsticks were Ashley Williams and Robby Swan. The drum line made a great appearance in all of these parades with many fine comments from the parade-watching crowd!
Band camps
Several Band members will be attending band camps in July. They will be learning leadership skills as well as honing their percussion and flag skills. For several years, the band has been sending students to camps at Ferrum Collage and JMU. The students have come back with tales of a great time and very intense hands-on learning experiences.
Students attending the JMU band camp are Samantha Brown, Anthony Clindenst, Matt Swain, Brian Taylor, and Ben Verrill. The students attending camp at Ferrum College are Kayla Hill, Ashley Mills, Krystal Heflin and Mike Weise.

The band would like to thank Curriculum Enrichment, Mr. and Mrs. Besecker, and Mr. and Mrs. Dickey for their donations. These contributions gave scholarship money, which enabled our drum majors, flag leaders and drumline to attend band camps at JMU and Ferrum College.
