Reading Club

program slated

The Rappahannock Library’s Summer Reading Club will host “Hot Dogs and Cool Cats” on Saturday, July 13 beginning at 11 a.m. Children’s librarian Jenny Glenn invites youngsters to join the group for a howling good time of dog and cat tales and craftmaking. The summer programs will continue each Saturday through Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. with the exception of July ■ 27 when the program begins at 3 p.m. For more information call the Library at 675-3780.

The 2002 Summer Food Sanitation Certification course has been scheduled. Learn about the new Virginia food regulations that took effect in March 2002.

The course and ServSafe Essentials textbook utilize the new 2001 Model Food Code from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

This course will provide successful participants a certification from the National Restaurant Association that is widely recognized and shows demonstrated knowledge of food safety principles and practices.

Virginia Cooperative Etension and the Virginia Department of Health are offering the 16 hour ServSafe Course and Exam.

It will be held in Madison at the War Memorial Building, Second Floor, July 22 and 29 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The preregistered cost is $95 per person. The textbook and exam is included in the fee.
