The Castleton Fire Company carnival proved more successful than ever this year with gross receipts amounting to over $4200 and a net profit of $2700. Miss Lillian Ann Grigsby, the daughter of . Mr. and Mrs. Mike Grigsby of Rock Mills, won the title of “Her Majesty” with 5,630 • votes and along with the crown was given ! red roses and a lovely charm bracelet by the Ladies Auxiliary.
Mr. T.M. Johnston was the Rappahannock County delegate to the Virginia State Republican Convention held Saturday in Richmond at the John Marshall Hotel. Mrs. Johnston and daughters, Kay and Carolyn accompanied Mr. Johnston to Richmond.
Robert L. Massie Jr. arrived Saturday to spend some time with his mother, Mrs. Frank Spalding and Mr. Spaldipg.. He has just completed three years service with the U.S. Army in this country and in Europe.
Miss Carolyn Gates Turner spent the weekend with, her mother, Mrs. L.J. Turner. She is a lifeguard at the Episcopal Camp, Roslyn, near Richmond.
Six young people, three boys and three girls from Rappahannock attended FHA-FFA summer camp last week at Mogart’s Beach, Smithfield. They were Sue Many, Bonnie Brown, Judy Latham, Jack Jenkins, Frank Jarvis and Stuart Palmer. Mr. C.B. Palmer, agriculture instructor and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brown . accompanied the group.
