These plates replace Virginia's “blue and white” standard-issue plate, which has been the standard for nearly 30 years.
The new plate design accommodates up to seven characters, enabling citizens to personalize their plates with a special mes.sage for $10 in addition to their vehicle registration fee. ;
The new plates are available at any DMV customer service center and online at www.dmvnow.com.
Citizens may voluntarily support the 400th anniversary commemoration with a $2 portion of their annual vehicles registration fee.
Revenue raised will be dedicated to the Virginia 400th Anniversary Fund.
The fund supports educational and legacy programs across the state recognizing the Commonwealth’s origins in 1607 when American’s First permanent English colonist landed at Jamestown.
