Jenny Stanley, eighth grade English teacher, called her trip, “a truly unique opportunity to see how another culture handles the business of education. I was most impressed by the emphasis on the whole child rather than simply teaching to the national curriculum. Observing and interacting with British teachers and students was in invaluable experience that helped me to grow both professionally and personally. I will forever be grateful for the chance to participate in such an amazing, inspiring conference.”
Beyond salary and the intrinsic worth of caring for young people, rewards for educators are limited. Support for effective instructors is an important demonstration of their essential value to students. The Rappahannock Educators Professional Growth Endowment has been initiated with just this objective in mind.
